*tube of children’s toothpaste
*children’s own toothbrushes
*mirror to look at teeth
*picture from the story to colour

1) Introduction
Ask the children if they brushed their teeth this morning. Do they brush them twice a day? Who knows what a dentist is? Today’s story is called “Me at the Dentist.”
2) Story and Discussion
* Read “Me at the Dentist”
* Talk about dentists
Would you like to go to a dentist? Would you be afraid?
What did the dentist do to the boy’s teeth? – looked with a mirror, brushed them with an electric toothbrush, asked the boy to rinse his teeth – this was a check up
What else can a dentist do? – take pictures of our teeth, straighten crooked teeth, do fillings for bad teeth, or even pull out very bad teeth
* Talk about teeth
Why do we clean our teeth every day? What food is good for out teeth? (carrots)
What food is bad for our teeth? (sweets) How many teeth do we have?
Look in a mirror to count teeth and find the different kinds
What can we bite, crunch and chew with our teeth?
Look at different animals teeth (alligator, lion, walrus, rabbit, horse, elephant, shark)
What do they eat?
3) Activities
* Everybody shows their toothpaste and toothbrush. Everybody cleans their teeth.
* Colour the picture from the story
4) Review the aims of the lesson
To learn that God gave us teeth and we must take care of them

Say a prayer to thank God for giving us teeth and make a promise to take care of them.
