‘Anderson family’ picture
Photos of each child’s family
Black & white pictures of grandparents, parents and children to cut and paste

1) Introduction
Begin by asking the children to show photographs of their family. How many are in your family?
Talk about each family member; their names and ages. Is it a recent or older photo? When was it taken? Do they like having their picture taken? Today’s story is about a family that wanted to have a photograph taken of their whole family.


2) Story & Discussion
* Look at the pictures of each person in the Anderson family. Explain who is Daddy, Mummy, Peter, Erik, Lena and Maria. Then read ‘The Family Portrait,’ 
* God loves each person in a family and everyone is important, from the oldest to the youngest. If one person is missing, the family is not complete. In the story the whole family means grandparents, parents and children – three generations.
* Who is the youngest in your family? Do you have grandparents? Where do they live? Do you visit each other? How often? What do you do when you are all together? (grandparents, parents,children)


3) Activity
* Cut and paste pictures of grandparents, parents, children. Cut out the correct number of pictures for each child’s family


4) Review the lesson aim
to know that God loves each person in our family and that everyone is important


5) Prayer
* Say a prayer to thank God for their family.
