Perfect Together
A fun filled Winter themed lesson sharing about Value & Togetherness. While each snowflake is unique and beautifully made, when they come together they create something so special- snow! To create a snowman you need each little snowflake to be a part of it, because of this each snowflake’s value is the same as the whole. God gave us our friends and family because we need each other and we are perfect together! (A lesson on the Divine Principle concept of a perfect machine in Christology.)

“Suppose there is a perfect machine. If the parts of the machine are the only ones of their kind in the whole world and can neither be obtained nor made again, one part would have a value corresponding to that of the whole machine, however trivial that part may be, because without it the whole machine would not operate.” -Sun Myung Moon
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” -Psalm 133:1

REVIEW & TRANSITION:
Last week we learned that just like no two snowflakes are alike, no two people are alike! God made us each unique- with our own personalities, talents & dreams! Today we will learn that while we are each special alone- we are “Perfect Together!”
ATTENTION GRABBER: choose 1:
Magnifying glass: When you look closely at a single snowflake- it is so detailed and beautiful! Have children take turns looking at real or fake snowflakes up close and describe them!
Puzzle piece: Show children a puzzle piece. Ask them what it is. This puzzle piece is special and beautiful but it works best when we put it together with other puzzle pieces. Together make a (quick and easy) puzzle using the other pieces.
INTRO:
You know what’s even more beautiful? When lots and lots of snowflakes get together! What do they make? SNOW! That’s right! What do you love about snow? What do you like to do in the snow? Snow wouldn’t be possible without the participation of each single snowflake!

*TEACH the Lesson:
TEACHING POINT 1: Value
There is a story of a “perfect machine” in the Divine Principle that True Father tells. Use the scripture reading in the DP to explain the story with one of the two following examples:
INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION:
(Harder) Machine- Draw a bicycle (or car) on a whiteboard. Have children help you think of all the different parts of the bike: wheels, spokes, chain, pedals, seat, handle bar...etc. Discuss how we need each part to make it work- even the smallest screw is important. The bike wouldn’t work if 1 little screw was missing.
(Easier) Snowman- Draw a snowman on a whiteboard. Have children help you think of all the different parts- head, body, eyes, nose, mouth, arms, buttons. Discuss how we need each part to make it work- even the smallest piece is important. If an eye is missing- the snowman can’t see!
Therefore, the tiniest piece has the same value as the whole (bike or snowman)! In the same way, although God our Heavenly Parent has billions of children- each of YOU are so valuable in God’s eyes! And with each piece (each of you) fitting together- we create something so beautiful.
TEACHING POINT 2: Perfect together! *OPTIONAL EXTENSION
Just like each little part of the (bike or snowman) is important- when we get together with each other- we can create something great! When all the snowflakes get together- they make snow for us! When we work together gathering and putting together all the different parts- we can build a snowman! Or When all the pieces of the bike come together- they make a bicycle that we can ride on! Did you know that: “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much!” (Helen Keller)
DISCUSSION:
Think of a time you tried to do something on your own but needed help. Let’s share some examples.
How did it feel when you couldn’t do it on your own? Sad, frustrating…
How did it feel when someone offered to help you? Relief, happiness, fulfillment, loved…
What does it mean to work together as a team? helping each other, working towards the same goal. What does it look like? Sound like? Feel like?
CONCLUSION:
Just like we need each little snowflake in order to make a snowman, each of you are special and needed by God, our Heavenly Parent. Each tiny snowflake is important and needed- to make a Snowman. God gave us our friends and family because we need each other. We are perfect together! We need each other and can be good friends and show teamwork by helping each other.
TITHING & PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Parent, thank you for each child here today who is uniquely valued and loved by you. Help us to work together and be a part of something big together. Help us to be good friends and helpers this week. We love you. Amen. Aju!
APPLY the Lesson:
GROUP ACTIVITIES: choose 1 Team Building Activity:
Build a Snowman- Challenge children to build a snowman together out of large crumpled up paper balls & tape.
Parachute Games- Use a parachute to work together to keep a ball or balloon up high!
Puzzle- Give each child some puzzle pieces and work together to create a picture!
Giant Snowflake- Fold a very large piece of butcher paper into a giant triangle shape. Have all children help cut out shapes, pieces and when you open it, it creates a beautiful giant snowflake!
Building a Tower- Give each child a few legos, blocks or cups and see what they can build on their own. Then ask them to put all their blocks, legos together to make 1 really big tower!
Pin the nose on the Snowman- Try pinning it alone blindfolded- then try again with a friend giving directions & working together!
CRAFTS: choose 1
Puzzle Art- pre-cut a blank puzzle out of cardstock. Have each child draw on 1 puzzle piece- then glue all the puzzle pieces together to create a beautiful big puzzle! Each one of us is unique- when we come together the puzzle is complete!
Musical Chair Painting- Artists walk around the table with 1 color paintbrush and stop & paint on a picture each time the music stops. Together we create beautiful art!
Doily Snowman- Provide children white doilies, buttons, eyes, hat cut outs to create their own snowmen!
Puffy Paint Snowmen- mix 1 cup white glue, 2 cups shaving cream, 1/2 cup of flour and add some glitter to make puffy snowman paint!
Snowman Scene- together create a snowman gluing down tiny pieces of white paper!
